Paper Leather Cap by DNJ
This waxed paper ‘leather’ baseball cap is handmade by Melbourne, Australia based studio DNJ. The caps are made with traditional Japanese washi paper, produced from the fibrous bark of kozo (Mulberry) trees, lined with natural fabric (deadstock, repurposed, or found) and then waxed.
Over time, the paper will soften, molding the cap to your head. The waxed paper is water resistant, durable, light, and warm.
Available in three colours: Light Green, Charcoal and off white.
DNJ PAPER is a collaborative research project and micro-label situated in Melbourne, Australia, and is led by designers Daphne Mohajer va Pesaran and Jake Nakashima-Edwards. The project employs a range of techniques, both traditional and nontraditional, to create paper clothing, accessories, and objects. Its creations aim to address pressing social, aesthetic, and conceptual questions related to fashion and textiles design.
All proceeds from products sold go towards supporting our After School Club educational programme for state school students.
